Unfortunate, isn’t it? I’ve screeched to a halt/ My tires are flat, bumpin’ on the asphalt/ Middle of nowhere, no lights glowing over me/ Thick opaque fog is all that I see/ Mediocrity eats away at me/ Last week I was special, this week I am lame/ Taunting and cold, every day is the same/ Scribbling in notebooks, halogen lights/ Cinder block walls, fast-arriving nights/ Petty fights, no one is right/ And all I could ever want is staring back at me/ Its stupid harlequin eyes teasing mercilessly/ Sneering and jeering I’m fearing what’s on the tip of my own tongue/ And my heart may beat in perfect time/ As long as this life-support breathes for these weak lungs of mine/ It’s nothing impressive, in fact it’s a bore/ Every sound I make’s like something I’ve heard before/ And all I could ever want is staring back at me/ Its stupid harlequin eyes teasing mercilessly/ Sneering and jeering I’m fearing what’s on the tip of my own tongue/ I’m driving around in East Bumblefuck/ Every turn that I make brings me worse luck/ Every mile I get closer to home/ The darker the streets are, the more overgrown…

I’m the cracks in your tiles, the dirt on your floor/ The ancient paint peeling, the rust on your door/ I’m pipes that are frozen, live wires on the ground/ The floorboards that creak when you don’t want a sound/ I’m drawing you towards me while falling apart/ The hipsters, they see me as romantic art/ I’m vacant and empty, vines grow on my face/ I should be condemned, I’m just taking up space/ I can’t see why no one 'dozed me over/ I am such an eyesore to this town/ Just knock me down/ I’m a leaky faucet, a blown-out light bulb/ A thermostat that can’t be nothing but cold/ I’m a shattered window, glass raw like my skin/ The door was locked but you found your way in/ You’re coming right towards me, we can’t be apart/ How come you see me as romantic art/ I’m rebuilding my bricks, light’s glowing inside/ I’m standing before you, there’s no way to hide/ I can’t see why no one 'dozed me over/ I am such an eyesore to this town/ Just knock me down

The air is dry but I’m drowning/ I feel it on my tongue/ And the smoke’s still on your breath/ And your breath is in my lungs…/ And the winter, it was long but/ Now it’s as if it never even happened/ All the cracks have been paved over/ Until the snow and salt have at it again…/ A white daisy sitting on the table next to the bed we shared at night/ Using a shot glass as a vase/ It’s crazy how much can change, matter of days/ I find it funny how the light can’t hit me/ Even when I’m sitting in the sun/ Thinner than thread but stronger than steel/ I refuse to close the blinds and rot here like it won…/ A white daisy sitting on the table next to the bed we shared at night/ Using a shot glass as a vase/ It’s crazy how much can change, matter of days/ I don’t go out without my rose colored glasses/ Without them my eyes would burn liked they used to…

Siren Song 03:18
Now I’m headed to the shore, free but poor/ Not even hurricanes can keep me away/ But no landlocked love’s what I’m dreaming of/ So I’ll swim my way out from the bay/ To the horizon, salt in my eyes and sand in my pores/ A distant memory, a haunting melody/ Just a tall-tale in your folklore/ And my bones still feel the ocean in their marrow and my legs sometimes lock at the thought of it/ My heart pumps saline water, never blood/ And I’m cold and blue and waterlogged/ And my eyes are blind/ And my ears are clogged/ But at least you’re mine, though I must be on my way/ Now I’m on the ocean floor, I can’t find the shore/ And I haven’t seen the light of day/ Except refracted in the water/ Neptune’s forgotten daughter/ Every inch of me turning gray/ There is no horizon, I’ll white out my eyes and close up my pores/ A distant memory, a haunting melody/ Just a tall-tale in your folklore/ And my bones still feel the ocean in their marrow and my legs sometimes lock at the thought of it/ My heart pumps saline water, never blood/ And I’m cold and blue and waterlogged/ And my eyes are blind/ And my ears are clogged/ But at least you’re mine, though I must be on my way/ Write me a song, make me a siren…
